Coreisa Janelle Lee (BM,MM), born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, has had 17 years of Classical and Jazz flute education.
As a new Trevor James Alto Flute Artist, Coreisa is also a V.Q. Powell young artist and has made an appearance on both the Jimmy Kimmel show and the Meredith Vieira show - where she was awarded a new professional V.Q. Powell flute by Meredith Vieira herself. Ms. Lee has had many great performance opportunities including: touring to Russia as a featured soloist, touring to Spain as principal Flutist of the New York Youth Symphony, performing multiple times at Carnegie Hall, a solo performance at the Richard Rodgers Amphitheater, and multiple private shows with cast from Broadway’s “Hamilton” and “The Great Comet.” Ms. Lee has had the chance to perform for the United Nations 69th anniversary alongside pianist, Lang Lang, and Pop singer, Sting. Recently, Ms. Lee was a featured soloist of the 2020 National Flute Association Summer series, where she also worked alongside the board of directors and artistic team to interview other successful professionals in her career.
As a recent recipient of a Masters degree, in the fall 2020, Coreisa will go on to receive her PhD as a provost fellow at West Virginia University - studying under Dr. Nina Assimakopoulos. Contributing to her success, she has had the pleasure of working with: Misty Copland, Jimmy Kimmel, Meredith Vieira, Ian Clarke, Greg Patillo, Robert Dick, Lang Lang, Anthony McGill, Sting, Raffael Trevisani, Alberto Almarza, Lorna McGhee, Reggie Parker and many more. Her past teachers include: Dr. Conor Nelson (MM, BGSU), Linda Chesis (BM, MSM), Kim Scott Strickland and Dr. Frank Adams.
